For those who are dreaming of a life in Canada. This program is for people with skilled work experience who want to immigrate permanently. The Federal Skilled Worker program (FSW) allows you to submit a profile to the Express Entry system where you can be nominated for permanent residence.

How do I know if I qualify?

These requirements or “factors”  give you points out of 100. You earn points for how well you do in each of the 6 factors. The current pass mark is 67 points.

Generally speaking, you need the following: one year full time (or the part-time equivalent) work within the last 10 years doing professional or technical jobs, or being a manager. You need a minimum of CLB 7 in your language assessment. You must also have some money for settling into Canada.

If you qualify – i.e. you have at least 67 points – you can submit a profile to the Express Entry System which gives you the opportunity to be nominated for Permanent Residence. Generally speaking, those who are nominated have a higher score than 67 points.
